			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In the previous post, I outlined three personal development tips - making a decision, writing down a goal and being flexible. Let me outline the next three tips.</p>
<p>Number four, set realistic goals. You cannot expect to see change overnight no matter how small the goal. Personal development, as the name indicates, takes time and lots of work to develop into the end goal. There should be some tension between having too easy of a goal - you won&#8217;t stay motivated or too hard a goal - you&#8217;ll quit too soon.</p>
<p>If you set unrealistic goals you are setting yourself up for failure and you will become even more discouraged than when you were first motivated to make a change in your life.</p>
<p>Fifth, let go of the results. This personal development tip may seem to work against you. Letting go means that you trust you will receive the best possible outcome, even if it is a little different than you first envisioned.</p>
<p>Accept that you cannot control everything, there are some things that you cannot and probably should not change about yourself. Sometimes people will find that it&#8217;s more about the path that self-development takes you down, not the destination that counts. The real challenge lies in the steps a person takes towards self development not necessarily whether or not the person succeeds.</p>
<p>Six, and maybe the most important of all, become a self starter. Personal development tips require positive action and will only work if you put forth the effort. Tips and guides alone cannot motivate a person, it requires a bit of leg-work on the seekers end. Read guides or talk to people who have achieved a similar goal, keep track of your progress, and stay organized.</p>

Let&#8217;s face it, most people don&#8217;t want to change. It takes work. But if you really want to live a better life, personal development is the way to go.</p>
<p>Let me explain. You can only become on the outside the way you are on the inside. Let me put that another way. Unless you think about being more than you are now, you will always stay the same. Or worse - you may be going backwards.</p>
<p>It can be a daunting task when you decide to work towards a new goal in your life. Obviously something or someone in your life has motivated you make a change in your life but now what do you do? Where do you start and what steps do you need to take in order to make your dream a reality? Here are five personal development tips that you can use to help you along the way.</p>
<p>First, make a decision to live better. The most important thing you can do, is start on the path to change your life now. Don&#8217;t put if off, you can get started today if you set realistic expectations. You can a million reasons to put something off until tomorrow but chances are you&#8217;ll just keep putting it off and you will be left with regrets.</p>
<p>Second, write down your goals. You&#8217;ve probably read this step hundreds of times. Do you know why? Because it works! You get your subconscios mind working for you. You don&#8217;t have to write a book, keep it short and don&#8217;t be afraid to re-write it if your plans should change.</p>
<p>Which leads us to personal development tip number three. Be use visualization but be flexible. Your vision and imagination are powerful alllies to attract what you want. Sometimes plans or interests change or don&#8217;t work out the way we envision them. That is OK. Life sometimes requires us to amend our plans, you may decide you are more interested in achieving a different goal or going about it a different way and it&#8217;s okay to edit your plans as you go along.</p>
